Patterned after successful communities for adults with disabilities in Texas, Illinois and Alabama, St. Andrew's Village will be a mixed-use community with residential and recreational facilities, much like a retirement community.
Located within the city limits of Abita Springs, above I-12, St. Andrews' 100 acres of land is green space abundant and allows for future development. It is located near a new school and recreational facilities and allows for interaction with the local community.
Initially our Abita-style cottages will accommodate 3 Villagers, each with his or her own bedroom and bathroom. Each home will include a family room, laundry, and kitchen. Villagers at each home will share meals and will be fully supported in all activities of daily living.

Villagers will also participate in community activities such as movies,dining, bowling, ball games, concerts, and shopping as well as routine obligations such as health and dental appointments.
Villagers will have meaningful employment with dignity and purpose at St. Andrew's Village.
Initial plans for work experiences include:
- Horticulture
- Restaurant Facility
- Retail store
- Providing services for local businesses
- Farmers and artist markets
Villagers will interact with the local community through work experiences, enterprise activities, recreational activities, and other on-site Village activities. Non-disabled persons will be encouraged to join our Village community; some may volunteer to help.
